| Dead New Year to end it????? |

That's right, kids. Dead New Year is calling it quits. After discussing it, Rat Bastard and I have decided to part ways in search of music that better fits what we are both into today, rather than last year. Rat's got some things in the works with a more goth feel, and I've got my little project, Johnny Coal and the Whores of Babylon, that I've been writing for on the side for some time now.
It's not all bad, because, after it's all said and done, we've had the pleasure of doing a lot of things in a short time that some unsigned acts never get to do.
We toured the East Coast within the first 7 months of being a band.
We played one of the biggest goth nights on the East Coast.
We released a cd.
We rocked out with the Brides, the Voodoo Organist, Psychocharger and many more.
We made a lot of great friends, saw interesting things and had a lot of fucking fun.
The first of two farewell shows is confirmed for May 1st, as part of Sacrosanct at the Nanci Raygun in Richmond, VA. We'll be rocking with the Voodoo Organist once again, as well as American Sinner, a band we played our first club gig with back in February '05 in DC.
The last show, TBA, will most likely take place in Charlottesville, VA in May or June, unless we get a really good offer to go somewhere else after the C'Ville show is over, in which case, the C'Ville show won't be our last show...
The last rehearsals are slated to begin this weekend. Saying goodbye isn't always easy, but I'll be damned if these shows aren't going to be fun... We'll have the last remaining copies of, "The Hangman's 8," and a shitload of DNY buttons for sale or maybe as free parting gifts.

And for good reason!
We, over here at Dead New Year Central, haven't been doing much of anything... except playing with the Brides and the New Minority, which was a fucking blast!
There will be pictures from that show sometime soon, and a video maybe as well! This really nice guy, Dempsey, I believe was his name, took some footage of the entire show that should be very good even though our show was sooooo bad. Johnny Coal needs to lay off the sauce...
Other news? Well, there isn't any to speak of on the Dead New Year front.
I'm putting a studio band together for the recording of my first solo demo to send off to labels, managers, and good-people-to-know (or in-the-know, rather), and I should begin tracking the initial versions of that in early '06. The new solo stuff is a little bit country. A lotta bit rock 'n' roll. Very Brides of Destruction with some Keith Richards twists here and there. Bluesy and rockin' and loud! You won't believe who I'm getting to play on this thing!
I'm also putting a live band together for an entirely different project that might incorporate some of the solo stuff. Think Stooges, Dolls and G'n'R. Action, baby! Yeah!
I've also started work on getting my very own internet radio station, Glitter Scab Radio! Should be launched in the New Year, so add GSR on MySpace and stay updated!
And my old band, Weinberg, is slated to do some reunion shows next summer. This is one of those things to see what our audience would have thought of us if we'd been better at our respective instruments. Kind of an experiment... a ROCKIN' experiment! Might start a MySpace page for it, but I haven't decided yet. 'Til then, here's what you get!
Rat's been working on his solo stuff as well. A little softer. A little more gothic. A little more Rat Bastard. Without me there to slop and cock it up, it's more precise and with more emotion. Should be good stuff, and even I look forward to hearing it!
Don't know, as of yet, when we'll start writing new DNY material. We're pretty happy with what we've got for now, and more will be decided in the [Dead]New Year.

This Monday, in Richmond, VA, Dead New Year is Rockin' the Nanci Raygun with The Voodoo Organist headlining.
Tristan will be doing a 20 minute set of acoustic folk-punk...
Scream loud, you might just be on our LIVE album... you never know...
And for the Halloween extravaganza in Charlottesville, VA, we'll be joining up with fellow rockers No Gods No Monsters and The Sad Lives of the Hollywood Lovers to bring you a very special...
Special, in that we'll be wearing helmets and drooling on ourselves...
But it's Halloween, and goth kids love that, so come out in costume, and maybe I'll bring you up on stage for humiliation...
